Attorney Leah Madden was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina and raised in Mableton, Georgia, which is located approximately 14 miles outside of Atlanta. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University in 2002 where she graduated magna cum laude. While attending Georgia State, she was an active participant in various student organizations and was member of the National Honors Society.
Leah Madden received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2005. While in law school, she received a coveted internship with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia. There she had an opportunity to litigate civil defense cases under Georgia’s Third Year Practice Act. During law school, Attorney Leah Madden was also an active participant in the Black Law Student Association (BLSA) where she served on the executive board during her second year of school and participated in several Mock Trial competitions as a student attorney. While in law school, she still found time to give back to the community, serving as a mentor and tutor for underprivileged students in the Athens-Clarke County Public School Mentorship Program.
Leah Madden is a member of the State Bar of Georgia. Present professional memberships include the American Bar Association and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. A seasoned trial lawyer and litigator, Attorney Leah Madden has represented accused persons at all stages of the justice process. She has extensive jury trial experience. Noteworthy cases include a successful appeal and reversal in the case, Foster v. State, 300 Ga.App. 446, 685 S.E.2d 422 (2009) and addressing a matter of first impression in the case, Bautista v. State, 305 Ga.App. 210, 699 S.E.2d 392 (2010).
Attorney Leah Madden spent the first three (3) years of her law career working as an associate with Scheib & Associates, L.L.C., a boutique criminal defense firm located in Atlanta, Georgia before starting her own practice, Davis Madden & Associates, P.C., in 2008. When Attorney Leah Madden is not working, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family; particularly her young daughter. Attorney Leah Madden is an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd.
